Great scoring in the spring conditions, before the rough puts on a spurt. James the first with 40 points (historical note, 4 days short of 394 years since James 1 died), constructed with great precision, nothing worse that 5 going out, just 2 sixes coming back.
Then bruv Jonathan putting on a huge late run with 39, shared by Colin. Good strong back nine for Jonathan, and balanced 4 over each way for Colin. Tough on Andy to get 38 points after gross 79, and Arthur and Mark with 37 points each. Fantastic 74 gross from Mark, knew it was good ‘cos the earth didn’t move all morning.
Big drama in the League as both Lance and Pete advance by 2, but Jonathan by 6 to nip ahead of Lance by a point. Hope you’re all gonna be out on Saturday for the showdown. ‘Just beware of Pete’ says Phil, twice a bridesmaid in the same situation.
Done deal in the Eclectic as I’ve been saying for weeks, with Mark coasting home, as usual and knocking 1 off on the way, just to be sure. Five in combat for second place, with Arthur 1 ahead.
Don’t miss Saturday’s thrilling grand finale!
